Broadway in Hollywood at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre, the home of touring Broadway in Los Angeles, seeks an experienced, full-time Assistant General Manager.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant General Manager works closely with the President of Broadway in Hollywood and the management team to ensure the operational success of the theatre and the productivity and well-being of staff, acting as the face and voice of Broadway in Hollywood to both staff and patrons.
COMPENSATION:
[$85,000 - $110,000] annually, with a comprehensive benefits package including 401k, Flexible Spending Account, Medical, Dental, Vision, and Company paid Life Insurance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the President with all operational aspects of the theatre.
- Weekly financial settlement with touring productions.
- Develop goals, policies, and procedures for BIH.
- Lead the organization’s focus on Accessibility, including sourcing and scheduling Access providers.
- Craft the policies and procedures for the Presidents Club, including season renewals, new sales, ticket fulfillment, exchanges, and additional seat purchases.
- Collaborate with all departments to build and achieve goals.
- Ensure website, app, and all patron correspondence embodies the desired voice and clarity of BIH.
- Compose job descriptions and assist in the hiring process.
- Thoughtfully reply to patron communications in a timely manner.
- Guide the organization toward appropriate change.
- Counsel staff in need of clarity or guidance.
- Represent BIH at community events.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Significant managerial experience at a large performing arts or other event venue.
- Bachelor’s degree in Theatre, Arts Management, Business, or similar subject is desirable, but not required.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel. Experience with Archtics is desirable.
- Good listening, speaking, and writing skills, including in conflict resolution.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with good time management.
- Detail-oriented, yet able to see the fuller picture.
- Ability to identify, escalate, and resolve issues in a timely manner – a problem solver.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.

DIRECT REPORTS: Director of Operations, Presidents Club Assistant,
GM Assistant.WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

MARKETING ASSISTANT
MUST LOVE BROADWAY.
Broadway in Hollywood, at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre, the premiere presenter of touring Broadway in Los Angeles, seeks an energetic, forward-thinking, team-oriented self-starter to join our marketing team as a MARKETING ASSISTANT.
The position reports to the Director of Marketing and will work with our small team on all things marketing, press, advertising, and special events.
There is a tremendous opportunity for immersion and growth in this position. You will learn from seasoned entertainment business professionals within the Nederlander Organization, the Broadway touring industry and the media companies and businesses with whom we partner on a regular basis. You will be exposed to national marketing directors, general managers, company managers and talent from top touring Broadway shows such as SIX, Hairspray, Les Misérables, MJ, Aladdin and more.
You will be involved in strategy sessions, press junkets, subscription marketing, digital advertising, show promotions, neighborhood and community partnerships, special events, and social media. You will gain an understanding of how all facets of marketing work together to build and maintain a thriving organization, loyal and happy patrons and a supportive community that works together to serve the greater good of us all. Many former staffers and interns have gone on to build fulfilling and diverse careers, gain admittance to prestigious graduate programs and make lasting connections in the theatre industry and Los Angeles community.
Primary responsibilities will include research, office maintenance and organization, executing promotions, tracking advertising materials, deadlines and approvals, audience survey reporting, and more. We are constantly innovating and evolving, so dull it is not. There is always something new to learn and implement and manage.
BASIC SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- YOU MUST LOVE BROADWAY AND THEATRE.
- Must be able to WORK IN PERSON in our HOLLYWOOD OFFICES at the Pantages Theatre. This is NOT a work from home position. Typical office hours are 10am – 6pm, Monday – Friday. We do also work occasional evenings and weekends at the theatre and in the community. Parking or Metro Pass is provided.
- Must be flexible and able to work some evenings and weekends at the theatre and in the community. Examples include attending shows at the theatre, attending special events in the community and occasional weekend events such as patron open houses at the theatre or the annual LA Times Festival of Books each year in April at USC.
- Must be willing to learn and grow.
- Must be interested in marketing to consumers.
- Must understand the importance of attention to detail.
- Must communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing.
- Must be willing to work with the public at events in the community.
- Must be able to use a computer for basic tasks and willing to learn how to manage our website, app, email system and more.

This is a full-time position with benefits.
Salary is $23 per hour and the typical work week is 40 hours.

MUST HAVE THEATRE EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR PASSION FOR THE THEATRE
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Making out-bound sales calls to patrons in order to sell subscriptions to Broadway in Hollywood’s upcoming or current season.
- Participate as part of the Lobby Sales team recruiting new subscribers attending Pantages productions.
- Maintain minimum sales goals and hours per Dept. Guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Maintain high standard of customer service and professionalism when dealing with patrons and staff.
Basic Skills & Requirements:
- General knowledge and love of live theatre.
- Sales skills with a friendly and service-oriented demeanor and a positive attitude.
- Excellent communication skills.
Compensation:
- $16.04/hour + commission.

Broadway in Hollywood seeks an experienced Flyperson at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Head Flyperson, Flyperson in legitimate theater or Flyperson on a touring production, in which responsibilities included leading and operating a flyrail and flyrail crew, to include load-ins, performances, load-outs, and maintenance calls.
- Complete knowledge of counterweight rigging systems and theatrical rigging practices, including the theory of design, industry standard safety practices, and operating practices, as well as demonstrated experience implementing, using, and maintaining such systems.
- Experience reading and implementing rigging plots and hang plots from scaled technical drawings.
- A complete stagecraft skill set is necessary, to include run crew experience, basic carpentry skills, and knowledge of the needs of all departments associated with a theatrical production.
- Must have excellent leadership, communication, and time management skills, as well as the ability to work efficiently and cooperatively with a variety of personalities, in a time constrained and rapidly changing work environment.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and the ability to communicate via e-mail.
- Preferred additional experience to include: touring production experience, theatrical automation equipment, specialty rigging equipment, and ETCP certification or the willingness to become ETCP certified.
- The Hollywood Pantages Theatre is a Road House. The willingness to work with Touring Companies and Touring employees is a must.
