Fall 2024 Marketing Internships

BROADWAY IN HOLLYWOOD UNDERGRADUATE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

FALL 2024 INTERNSHIPS • SEP 9 – NOV 27, 2024

Broadway in Hollywood, the premiere presenter of touring Broadway in Los Angeles, is offering undergraduate student PAID & college/university credit internships for FALL 2024 onsite at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre. Interns will work directly with the Broadway in Hollywood marketing team to get hands-on experience and training in live entertainment marketing, publicity, promotions, research, and events. Opportunities may include but are not limited to: market research; assisting at press and special events, coordination of partner promotions, and opening night red carpets. Additionally, interns will also help with coordinating digital and print collateral needs for touring Broadway shows; and content creation for social media. General knowledge of Broadway shows is encouraged, but not required.

 

PAID INTERNSHIPS | ACADEMIC CREDIT

Paid Internships are also applicable for academic credit at the intern’s college / university. Internships are paid $17.28 per hour. Parking is provided. If applying to also satisfy academic credit, you must submit official documentation of eligibility from your college/university.

 

AVAILABILITY & SCHEDULING

Scheduling is flexible, but candidates MUST be available to work onsite at least 3 weekdays for a total of 20 hours maximum for a work week. Master Carpenter

The Hollywood Pantages Theatre seeks a Master Carpenter

 

Broadway in Hollywood is in search of a highly skilled, experienced Master Carpenter to join our thriving team at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre, one of Los Angeles' leading homes for legitimate theatre.  As the Master Carpenter, you will be instrumental in the continuing success of the Touring Productions at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre.

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Master Carpenter in legitimate theater, or as a Production Carpenter on a touring production.
  • Must have excellent leadership, communication, and time management skills, as well as the ability to work efficiently and cooperatively with a variety of personalities, in a time-constrained and rapidly changing work environment
  • Knowledge, enforce and adhere to strict safety protocols and regulations, fostering a secure working environment for all employees. This includes overhead rigging and fire regulations.
  • Take charge of the Local Crews, working with Production Touring Crews, providing expert guidance to ensure projects are completed with precision, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Knowledge of the needs of all departments associated with theatrical production, including load-ins, performances, load-outs, and maintenance calls
  • Complete stagecraft skill set is necessary, knowledge of all Stage Equipment with extensive knowledge of industry standard safety practices, operating practices, theatrical rigging practices, counterweight rigging systems, as well as demonstrated experience implementing, using, and maintaining such systems. Experience in woodwork, construction, uses of power and hand woodworking tools.
  • Must have wide-ranging working knowledge of CAD (Vector works/AutoCAD), Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and the ability to communicate via e­mail
  • Experience reading and implementing rigging plots and hanging plots from scaled technical drawings.
  • Preferred additional experience to include touring production experience, theatrical automation equipment, specialty rigging equipment, and ETCP certification or the willingness to become ETCP certified.
  • The Hollywood Pantages Theatre is a 100% Roadhouse. The willingness to work with Touring Companies and Touring employees is a MUST.

 

REPORTING TO: Technical Director

 

WORK SCHEDULE: Regularly 8 shows per week plus show work calls and venue maintenance calls as needed. Schedule set by the touring show and Technical Director.

 

COMPENSATION: This is a Union position. Rates and benefits paid per the Local 33 CBA. The current hourly base rate is $53.96.

Building Maintenance | Porter

The Hollywood Pantages Theatre, located in Hollywood, California, seeks experienced full-time Building Maintenance/Porter. Participates in a broad range of building cleaning and maintenance that allow the safe operation and efficiency of the theatre and office building as well as maintain the theatre’s historical integrity.

Job-Type: Part-time

Schedule: Monday to Friday, may occasionally work on weekends.

Reporting to: Maintenance Manager

Compensation: $18-19 per hour  

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in building maintenance or a related field preferred
  • Ability to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects as necessary
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning and janitorial procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and address maintenance issues promptly
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Basic proficiency in using technology such as smartphones or tablets for communication and reporting purposes

 Responsibilities:

  • Assist in coordinating service requests, conducting preventive maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, managing supplies and parts inventories, overseeing purchases, and coordinating turn-key operations.
  • Set up and dismantle arrangements for special events
  • Provide support to contracted workers or companies responsible for building maintenance, repairs, and groundskeeping.
  • Perform various general repairs including painting, wall patching, and changing light bulbs
  • Assembles work desks, chairs, hangs pictures, etc. for departments
  • Conduct basic cleaning of office, building, and street areas
  • Ability to operate power tools
  • Ability to assemble and move furniture.
  • Work independently to efficiently complete assigned task
  • Possess strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Moderate. Tasks involve bending, lifting, walking, carrying, or using a force equal to lifting up to fifty (50) pounds. Ability to drive for pick-ups or deliveries.

Broadway in Hollywood is in search of a highly skilled, experienced Maintenance Technician to join our thriving team at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre, one of Los Angeles' leading homes for legitimate theatre.  As the Maintenance Technician, you will perform a wide range of tasks aimed at ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of the historic Hollywood Pantages Theatre.

Job-Type: Full-time

Reporting to: Maintenance Manager

Compensation: $67,000 per year

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or in a comparable role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems along with the necessary knowledge of tools needed to complete the tasks
  • Exhibit proficiency in comprehending and applying technical manuals and drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate physical endurance and manual dexterity necessary for labor-intensive tasks
  • Willingness to work flexible hours when necessary

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks and repairs on company facilities and equipment to ensure operational efficiency

  • Troubleshooting and repairs of building and installed systems that include mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, HVAC, shop, ceiling tiles, door hardware, wall paint, floor, and additional items as necessary

Accounts Payable Clerk

Nederlander West Coast, the premiere presenter of Broadway theatre and live entertainment seeks an Accounts Payable (“A/P”) Clerk to join our accounting team in our Los Angeles office at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre.

Position Summary:

Position reports to the Accounting Manager and works with a team to provide financial, administrative, and clerical support to our organization for the many live productions we present year-round at multiple venues.

Reports To: Accounting Manager

Compensation: $22-$26 per hour, depending on experience

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Open vendor mail and distribute for proper approvals.
  • Input approved vendor bills.
  • Print checks and prepare them for signatures.
  • Prepare Wire Transfer/ACH transactions.
  • Enter and post handwritten checks.
  • Add new vendors or update existing vendors information – this includes requesting W-9’s and bank information.
  • Reconciling and entering in expense reports.
  • Filing and scanning all A/P backup.
  • Help balance month end A/P reports.
  • The position may be requested to perform job-related responsibilities and tasks other than those stated in this job description.

Outbound Subscription Sales Manager

The Hollywood Pantages Theatre seeks an Outbound Subscription Sales Manager

The Hollywood Pantages Theatre/Broadway in Hollywood is seeking a highly motivated theatre lover with strong customer service, supervisory, and sales experience. This full-time role reports to the Director of Outbound Sales and collaborates with the Season Ticket Office to enhance outbound season ticket sales campaigns. The successful candidate will help develop the subscription sales team, aiming to increase season ticket sales revenue and exceed goals. We're looking for a team player dedicated to providing excellent customer service and building both current and new relationships.

Position: Outbound Subscription Sales Manager

Department: Outbound Subscription Sales

Reports to: Director of Outbound Sales

Job Type: Full-Time – Non-Exempt

Schedule: Evening and Weekend Availability Required

Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000 (Hourly + Commission)

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 4year college degree preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of Broadway is a must.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position currently directly supervises up to 12 Sales Associates with room to grow.

Additional Responsibilities:

Duties will include supervising and motivating an outbound sales team as well as:

  • Facilitating and streamlining established outbound subscription sales policies and procedures to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Assisting in creation of annual strategic sales plans to increase season ticket subscription sales revenue from established and new clients.
  • Assisting in identifying new opportunities for capturing new season subscription sales and refining current lead generation strategies.
  • Assisting in potential development of community partnerships with local residences & community events as potential sales outlets.
  • Assist in planning and implementation of subscription component of events aimed at audience retention.
  • Processing sales orders and monitoring customer experience.
  • Plan new programs to increase sales leads and opportunities.
  • Generating sales leads from existing databases including past season ticket holders.
  • Developing a full understanding of Ticketmaster/Archtics capabilities including but not limited to subscription capabilities.
  • Assist in hiring as well as continuous supervising, training, coaching and motivation of Outbound Subscription Sales Associates as well as department supervisors.
  • Management of in person lobby subscription sales efforts.
  • Accurate record keeping.
  • Additional duties as required.

  • Perform monthly and annual General Ledger closing of companies, and interface with outside CPAs.
  • Maintain and organize daily wire/ACH payments (including inter-company payments).
  • Maintain various accounts payable excel schedules (including credit card allocation, petty cash logs, etc.).
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and record monthly depreciation expense.
  • Prepare daily check and miscellaneous cash deposits.
  • Prepare monthly rent and weekly inter-company payroll invoices.
  • NetSuite support (accounts payable).
  • Preparation of miscellaneous tax schedules (including business tax, FTB quarterly reports, etc).
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
