Senior Staff Accountant

Nederlander is seeks a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual for the full-time position of Senior Staff Accountant to work in Los Angeles Office located in the Hollywood Pantages Theatre

Position Summary:

The Senior Staff Accountant will manage and support the accounts payable staff. This position will report directly to the Controller of Broadway in Hollywood.

Our ideal candidate is proficient in Microsoft Excel, has a strong knowledge of accounting principles and the ability to manage multiple employees with different responsibilities.

 

Job Type:  Full-time

Schedule:  Monday to Friday

Reports To: Controller

Salary:  $75,000 to $90,000, depending on experience.

Requirements:

  • BA in Accounting/Finance preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in bookkeeping and accounts payable.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • MS Office experience – strong Excel skills.
  • NetSuite experience and proficiency preferred.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Strong Work Ethic – eagerness to learn and grow within the Company.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support Accounts Payable staff.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Reconcile and maintain general ledger accounts.
  • Perform balance sheet accounts analysis.
  • Maintain and organize daily wire/ACH payments (including inter-company payments).
  • Research and track credit card chargebacks.
  • Reconcile event settlements and record in the general ledger.
  • Assist with the preparation of event profit/loss statements.
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and record monthly depreciation expense.
  • Prepare monthly rent and inter-company payroll invoices.
  • NetSuite support (accounts payable and bank reconciliation support and system corrections).
  • Preparation of miscellaneous tax schedules.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.

Broadway in Hollywood (Hollywood Pantages & Dolby Theatre), premiere presenter of Broadway theatre in Los Angeles, seeks energetic, forward-thinking, team-oriented professionals to join our Outbound Subscription Sales Team. 

MUST HAVE THEATRE EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR PASSION FOR THE THEATRE

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  1. Making out-bound sales calls to patrons in order to sell subscriptions to Broadway in Hollywood’s upcoming or current season.
  2. Participate as part of the Lobby Sales team recruiting new subscribers attending Pantages productions.
  3. Maintain minimum sales goals and hours per Dept. Guidelines.
  4. Maintain accurate records.
  5. Maintain high standard of customer service and professionalism when dealing with patrons and staff.

Basic Skills & Requirements:

  1. General knowledge and love of live theatre.
  2. Sales skills with a friendly and service-oriented demeanor and a positive attitude.
  3. Excellent communication skills.

Compensation:

  • $16.04/hour + commission.

Flyperson

Broadway in Hollywood seeks an experienced Flyperson at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre.

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Head Flyperson, Flyperson in legitimate theater or Flyperson on a touring production, in which responsibilities included leading and operating a flyrail and flyrail crew, to include load-ins, performances, load-outs, and maintenance calls.
  • Complete knowledge of counterweight rigging systems and theatrical rigging practices, including the theory of design, industry standard safety practices, and operating practices, as well as demonstrated experience implementing, using, and maintaining such systems. 
  • Experience reading and implementing rigging plots and hang plots from scaled technical drawings. 
  • A complete stagecraft skill set is necessary, to include run crew experience, basic carpentry skills, and knowledge of the needs of all departments associated with a theatrical production. 
  • Must have excellent leadership, communication, and time management skills, as well as the ability to work efficiently and cooperatively with a variety of personalities, in a time constrained and rapidly changing work environment. 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and the ability to communicate via e-mail.
  • Preferred additional experience to include: touring production experience, theatrical automation equipment, specialty rigging equipment, and ETCP certification or the willingness to become ETCP certified.
  • The Hollywood Pantages Theatre is a Road House. The willingness to work with Touring Companies and Touring employees is a must.
