General Management Associate

The Hollywood Pantages Theatre, located in Hollywood, California, seeks an experienced full-time General Management Associate

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The GM Associate’s primary role is to provide support and assist the General Management Office in the varied functions performed by the Broadway in Hollywood Management Team including key support for show financial settlements, the Presidents Club and customer surveys.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Management Office Duties

  • Support Management Team in managing daily operations to ensure positive, safe and profitable working environment.
  • Support weekly show financial settlements with productions at both the Hollywood Pantages and Dolby Theatres.  Weekly Settlements are normally done on Sunday evenings.
  • Support the marketing, sales and tracking of season, single and group tickets to all shows.
  • Coordinate with the Management team in planning short and long-term projects, budgets, expense controls, schedules, and staffing.
  • Maintain Management files for current and upcoming productions, seasons, etc.
  • Assist the Management team in distributing information about forthcoming productions, including special requirements particular to individual shows.

 

Guest Experience Duties

  • Coordinate the marketing, sales and customer service of Presidents Club Memberships including season renewals, new sales, ticket fulfillment, facilitating exchanges and additional seat purchases.
  • Support the execution of customer surveys, including scheduling (in conjunction with the marketing department), reviewing, distributing internal Net Promoter Score results and responding to customer comments.

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the sale and tracking of house seats for the Hollywood Pantages & Dolby Theatres
  • Facilitate the daily movement of the high volume of information and communication flowing through the GM’s office.
  • Assist in the creation of outgoing correspondence from the Management office.
  • Answer incoming phone calls to the Management office.
  • Assist on special event logistics (large on-sales, subscriber events, etc)
  • The position may be requested to perform job-related responsibilities and tasks other than those stated in this job description.

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 4year college degree preferred.
  • Motivated, proactive and willing to think outside of the box.
  • Detail oriented with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Knowledge of theatre.
  • Computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Archtics knowledge a plus.
  • Must be able to list up to 30 pounds occasionally.

Ushers

The Hollywood Pantages Theatre is seeking energetic, articulate Ushers to work as front-line goodwill ambassadors for the theatre and our shows. Excellent customer service skills, a self-starter and team player are imperatives for this position. 

Ushers must:
• Be able to remain in a stationary position for more than 50% of the time
• Regularly move about the theatre while assisting patrons to their seats
• Frequently move playbill, stanchions and other front of house equipment weighing up to 25lbs
• The person in this position frequently communicates with patrons who have inquiries about their tickets including directions to their seats and well as information about the theatre.  
• Must be able to exchange accurate information in crowds and stressful situations.
  
Typical shifts are 4 to 5 hours and include nights, weekends, and holidays. $14.25/hr.

Spring 2020 Marketing Internships

Hollywood Pantages Theatre, the premiere venue for touring Broadway in Los Angeles, is offering undergraduate student internships for college/university credit for SPRING 2020. Interns will work directly with the Hollywood Pantages’ marketing team to get hands-on experience and training in live entertainment marketing, research, publicity, promotions, and events. Opportunities may include, but are not limited to: conducting market research; assisting at press and special events, and Opening Night red carpets at both the Pantages and Dolby Theatres; coordinating digital and print collateral needs for touring Broadway shows; and content creation for social media and promotions.

 

This internship requires participation in two annual events: the Festival of Books at the University of Southern California (April 18-19, 2020), and the Jerry Herman High School Musical Theatre Awards at The Montalbán on April 26, 2020 (with rehearsals from April 24-25, 2020). Basic knowledge of Broadway is encouraged, but not required.

 

ACADEMIC CREDIT

Internships are unpaid, but applicable for academic credit at the intern’s educational institution. Parking is provided. You MUST be eligible for academic credit and submit official documentation of eligibility from your college/university in order to be considered. Please do not apply if you are not eligible for college/university academic credit. 

 

SCHEDULING

Scheduling is flexible, but availability to work at least 3 weekdays for 4-8 hours per day is preferred. Do NOT APPLY IF YOU CANNOT WORK AT LEAST 3 DAYS (M-F) EACH WEEK AND AT LEAST 4 HOURS PER DAY. Some weekend and evening availability for events is a plus, but not required.

 

We are currently accepting internship applications for Spring 2020. The start/end dates can be negotiated, depending on the intern’s academic calendar and schedule. However, we do require availability for the following:

  • Saturday, April 18, 2020 and/or Sunday, April 19, 2020
    • At least one 8-hour shift on the weekend for the Festival of Books
  • Friday, April 24, 2020 | Saturday, April 25, 2020 | Sunday, April 26, 2020
    • Availability on all THREE dates (8 hours/day) for the Jerry Herman High School Musical Theatre Awards

Stage Door

The historic Pantages Theatre in Hollywood is looking for energetic, articulate people to be the backstage goodwill ambassadors for performances during our Season. Excellent customer service skills are imperative for this position. Stage Door must be able to monitor the ins and outs of the show and theatre staff, secure the theatre before/during/after a show, and speak clearly so as to be able to provide direction and information about the theatre. Stage Doors must be team players, self-motivated, and able to work with diverse personalities and stressful situations. Typical shifts include nights, weekends, and holidays. $14.25/hr
